This site is dedicated to Nautical information mostly about my favorite, Tall Ships or for people who call them historical ships, in this case another name for them is old style sailing vessels.
Please Visit all of my site it is full of great information about my favorite hobby. Thank you for coming. Drop me a line. Tell me how you liked my site. It's only gonna get better.
As a young fellow I tried making different types of models like airplanes (nobody I showed them to was impressed at all), then I tried military vehicles (everybody said to much about war) they were good in the sand box for war games with friends, then I tried Navy ships like aircraft carriers and destroyers (they looked good but still nobody was interested), so I tried another type old style sailboats. I built a 12 inch model of a Spanish Galleon and 'lo & behold' my Grandmother gave me $10.00 for it and everybody was impressed with the work I did on it. Well finally I found my way of making a few bucks here and there after all i got a big family with loads of Aunts and Uncles. Also the fact of living in Salem, Massachusetts also helped cause it's a coastal city with ocean loving people. I also worked for a company in Marblehead, MA that made sails for most of the boats around there and met a lot more people who were interested in models. It was nice to have money in my pockets while growing up.
In my 40 so years of building model sailboats, the count of ships I have built is way over 100. Most of the ships I have built were plastic models from companies like Heller, Revell, Lindberg, and Airfix, some of my latest endeavors have been trying to make them out of wood.
